I re-visit business ideas and working options for a recession. I also re-visit Professor Paul Zane Pilzer’s earlier predictions.

Earlier this year I wrote about why I believe home based internet businesses will soar over the next few years. As it turned out the title was a little misleading as I got side-tracked into putting forward ideas set out by Professor Paul Zane Pilzer. Pilzer has the uncanny knack of accurately predicting economic trends and has been doing so for over 20 years. Despite the slightly misleading title this article has been read by hundreds of people.

What I had intended to communicate was that the economic downturn – it wasn’t a recession then – would bring thousands of people to the internet looking for information on developing business ideas for a recession. The reason being that more and more people would begin to see the necessity of developing multiple streams of income to secure their financial future.

I used ideas from Professor Pilzer to support and encourage this. Some of these ideas included the assertion that the economy was in great shape. In fact, he said, it was in the middle of its greatest growth spurt in history.

Another of Pilzer’s assertions was that the age of the corporation, barely a century old, was now giving way to the age of the individual entrepreneur. He predicted that the economies of scale, which supported large corporations, no longer applied. Because of this, huge corporations were splitting up into smaller units. Taken further this meant that individual entrepreneurs would now accumulate the wealth that would have gone to the corporations. This would create 10 million millionaires over the next 10 years (US alone).

Now you could see the logic in that provided the economy was indeed going through its greatest growth spurt in history. But is it?

Answer. Yes it is. What is happening at the moment is part of the dismantling of the large corporations. Admittedly, it is extremely painful for many people with more pain to come.

However, this is your opportunity as an individual entrepreneur to step forward and claim your share of the wealth.

But how?

Well Paul Zane Pilzer was particularly talking about the network marketing field for these business ideas. However, he also mentioned the speed of technological change and the opportunity that arises for you if you can close the technology gap. It is his belief that the internet has barely gotten started.

As an internet entrepreneur, whether internetwork or online marketing, you have this tremendous opportunity to help others into this field. As the recession bites even harder, millions of people worldwide will look to you to get them started. This will create residual income for your lifetime.

Always amazed by this man, many people were deeply saddened when they learned of Kerry Packer’s death in December of 2005. He won millions of dollars said to have totaled somewhere between 20 million and 40 million at Las Vegas’ MGM over a period of several days which ultimately ruined the careers of several casino employees, executives in fact, who had used all of their influences to reel him in to become a player at the MGM casino. Kerry Packer was a media tycoon that had an estimated net worth of somewhere around 4.7 billion dollars. He was the wealthiest man in Australia making his money from media holdings including television and print media. He was involved heavily in gambling and tourism and had significant interest in Melbourne’s Crown Casino.

Packer was a big polo player and keen on making large casino wagers. He was a heavy smoker and one who lived hard as so many gamblers do but he was different than the typical gambler. Kerry Packer lived hard, worked hard and played hard.

He was noted to be a big risk for any casino to have in their company because he won more than he lost which is one reason the casino executives of MGM were said to have lost their jobs upon bringing Packer through their doors. The risks of having him gamble at their tables held huge risks for the casinos especially since his games of choice were baccarat and blackjack.

One media outlet once reported that for a number of years, Packer had won seven million dollars each year in the London casinos yet the London casinos would ultimately be the casinos where Packer would suffer the largest loss and that occurred in 1999.One of the biggest losses Packer ever experienced occurred in 1999 when he visited London casinos and proceeded to lose 28 million dollars which was said to be the largest simultaneous loss in the history of the world of gaming.

Bob Stupak was said to have witnessed a rare moment of unusual circumstance when Kerry Packer once played in a casino and an arrogant Texas millionaire quoted his net worth in a drunken stupor. He offered to “flip a coin” for the millionaire’s 60 million just to shut him up. He must’ve worked and it’s doubtful that the coin was tossed.

Kerry Packer died on December 26, 2005 at his home in Sydney, Australia. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him as the “true and largest gambler of this world” but more importantly, as the fine businessman that he was in many facets of the corporate world. Kerry Packer was only 68 years old.

A person of high EQ solves their problems based on experience, morality, and smarts. They don’t calculate but weigh on better judgments. It is said that if an average person is lacking in high IQ they compensate for higher EQ instead. This is the reason why most average Joes become millionaires in the business industry and the geniuses are still stack with their lab rats.
